    'Akustische und Kino-Gerate Gesellschaft' operates in Austria, and was founded in Vienna in 1947 by Dr. Rudolf Gorike and engineer Ernst Pless. Originally, its main business was to provide technical equipment for cinemas such as loudspeakers, film projectors and light meters.

    In 1949, AKG begins producing headphones, the first model being the K120 DYN.

    'Akustische und Kino-Gerate Gesellschaft' is abridged AKG in 1965.

    In 1984, AKG became a public company, listed on the Vienna stock exchange.

    In 1989, the brand made acquisition of dbx Professional Products.

    The brand produces its first wireless microphones in 1991: the WMS100 and WMS900.

    The company was acquired by the American company Harman International Industries in 1994.

    AKG's United States subsidiary is headquartered in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles since 1985.

    In 2012, AKG announces its partnership with DJ Tiesto to start manufacturing headphones under Tiesto's name.

    With more than 1400 international patents, the brand AKG provide a powerful sound, natural and without distortion; acclaimed since more than 60 years by music's professionals.
    AKG material accompanied tours of greatest stars, from Frank Sinatra to Rolling Stones passing by Missy Elliott and Kanye West. They have also made few laps in orbit on board of Mir space station.
