    Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd., established on January 1934, based on a government plan to establish a domestic photographic film manufacturing industry. The firm's name is due to the Japanese mountain, Mount Fuji.

    Evolution:

    Odawara Factory (currently the Kanagawa Factory Odawara Site) established on June 1938.
    On December 1965, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A., Inc. (currently FUJIFILM U.S.A., Inc.) established in New York State to comprehensively manage business in North America. Fuji Photo Film (Europe) GmbH will follow, in Düsseldorf, with the same mission but in Europe in 1966.

    On October 1993, the company becomes majority shareholder of Chiyoda Medical Co., Ltd.

    On October 1955, FUJIFILM Imaging Systems (Suzhou) Co., Ltd., was established in Suzhou, China.

    On December 1997, the company acquires German-based Eurocolor Photofinishing GmbH & Co. KG.

    During the year 2006, the company acquires Avecia Inkjet Limited, Dimatix, (U.S.-based industrial inkjet printhead manufacturer.), Daiichi Radioisotope Laboratories Ltd. and Problem Solving Concepts Inc. (a U.S.-based manufacturer of medical imaging information systems for cardiology.)

    On fall 2009, Fujifilm release the first complete photographic 3D system without glasses.

    Today:

    Today, Fujifilm is a manufacturer of digital and analog photographic equipment, consumables and printing graphic arts materials, medical imaging materials, optical (through Fujinon brand), office equipment, magnetic and optical recording support, materials used in flat screens and photosensitive emulsions composition.

    The brand redeemed numerous firms during years and owns now new companies like German company IP Labs GmbH, Empiric Systems LLC., SonoSite etc. The brand is present everywhere in the world often as a subsidiary like in Colombia, Ukraine, Turkey, Indonesia etc.
